played this at gamescon, was kinda disapointed by it but we only got to play the start of the game so not sure about it yet

endless dialogs and the fights just missed something.. but i guess thats because we got a low level char
in the part we got to play the castle of the main chars was under siege and they had to flee, but because of all the talking and not very interesting fights it didnt feel like your castle was under siege rather like you were running around in some cave filled with low level bandits
also the graphics was a big downside beacause of the style they chose, the details of characters were kinda reminding me of nwn and because they zoomed in all the time with the ingame movies they kinda screwed themself over i think

friend bought it and installed it on my pc so got to play some more

graphics dont seem much of an isue anymore exept that the eyes still are realy fake. after playing the game some more as elf mage im starting to like the combat more. the story seems good so far but they could have done it with like half the dialogs less.. realy starting to piss me off on that part since you have to talk for like 5mins to some npc to get the information you want especialy on the first part of the game i spent about 2 hours running around in the mage tower talking left and right and left and right... before getting out to some action

K, played it for like 3 levels now.
Its fun, its Baldurs Gate in 3D.
You get to control yourself AND partymembers.
You can set tactics for yourself and partymembers like Heal yourself at 50% health, attack an enemy who attacks your party, go ranged when you are to far etc..
And its got a very strong storyline.
Which means long discussions and loadsa letters and books and quests you can read.

All in all i like it very much till now. something completely different from WoW, which is mainly based upon battles and levelling.

So if you wanna good story and depth.. Dragon Age is a good game for you!

K, nu het op mijn "goeie" pc (incl. nieuwe videokaart) echt voluit soepel loopt ben ik er echt verslaafd aan.

Sterke verhaal lijn met veel subplots, veel characters die je kunnen helpen of die je helpen de verhaallijn te begrijpen. Er is ook een vrij aardige tactische kant aan het spel.

Je kan tot 4 personen hebben in je groep, deze kan je allemaal overnemen en besturen. als je er 1 overneemt, dan gaan de andere 3 op automatische piloot... maar die automatische piloot kan je "programmeren" d.m.v. een aantal simpele "wat als" formules die je via een pull down menu kan maken (If enemy attacks caster then attack that enemy. If health goes below 50% drink health potion etc..)
Hierdoor heb je toch wat meer de controle over die characters die je niet direct bestuurd.

Verder is ook hier de mogelijkheid om potions te maken en je te verbeteren in je tak van sport.

Ik heb nu een dag of 3 gespeeld en ben nog niet op 10% van het verhaal.

Erg leuk tot nu toe.

Maar het is wel echt een vet spel!!
hele goede verhaal lijn en als je de tijd er voor neemt kom je ook achter de verhalen van de andere characters in je groep, dat weer extra quests en items oplevert.

Alleen jammer dat het gewoon over en uit is nu. verhaal over, de expansions (2 tot nu toe) zijn hooguit goed voor 1 uurtje extra plezier.

Maar gelukkig is de TOOLBOX al te downloaden waarmee je een eigen wereld en verhaal lijn e.d. kan opbouwen.. JA DOD.. NET ZOALS NWN!!!
Het is wachten dus op de private dedicated servers die nu opgezet gaan worden.

Ben nu voor de 3de keer begonnen
2x uitgespeeld.

Het leuke eraan is dat je elke keer met een ander ras/classe kan beginnen en dan wordt het verhaal ook heel anders.
ook je relatie met je partymembers is anders op dat moment.

Eerste keer wou een wilde bos elf een kind van me... en de 2de keer ben ik een lesbische relatie begonnen met een priesteres

Nu probeer ik ze allebei te krijgen... maar is die priesteres boos op me omdat ze doorheeft dat ik ze allebei probeer te versieren ... die wilde bos elf vind dat wel lollig en buit dat dan weer uit door extra om me heen te hangen

Hahaha... ach.. het verhaal ansich is erg goed. en zelfs na 3x spelen heb ik nog maar 60% van de content gezien. er is nog genoeg om uit te vinden.

Tsja, ik ben nooit echt zo'n RPG fan, vaak teveel gelul, te weinig actie en teveel beperkingen van de race of class waar je in zit, maar je weet maar nooit.
